In 2007, I purchased my first home.  Yep. BEFORE the bubble burst.  I could kick myself but instead I went to work turning my century year old craftsman into a home.  Over the years, I inhaled quite a bit of plaster and found all sorts of treasures stuck between the lath.  I encountered lath and plaster on nearly every project I took on and while it can be a headache to deal with, the natural beauty of such a simple way of building is near and dear to my heart.

I still own that home in the town of Bellingham, Wa but the summer of 2012 brought new adventures in a another city and you guessed it, another craftsman bungalow.

I’m a gal who loves getting my hands dirty when I’m not busy with my job at a local non profit.  I love home ownership and all the ups, downs, and in betweens that go along with it. I daydream how to bring new life to a space and the steps to take to get there.  I try to be sustainable whenever possible and use local resources for supplies.  That, and the handy likes of my partner, “the contractor.”

Somehow, none of the projects I attempt are ever perfect or seem done, but those imperfections tell of the journey traveled.
